TREATMENTS AND INTERVENTIONAL MEDICINE

Through a clinical approach to a variety of painful conditions, including migraines, cervical injuries, back and neck pain, sciatica, occipital neuralgia, diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome (RSD), facet arthropathy, back pain, spinal stenosis, joint pain and cancer pain among others, I use a wide range of treatments to relieve pain, with the most modern techniques and equipment so that patients can return to having a full and productive life.
Innovative treatments and procedures include kyphoplasty, ketamine infusion, radiofrequency ablation, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, occipital nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulator implants, and stem cell treatments.
Regarding interventional pain treatment, it is a set of procedures aimed at reducing chronic pain in the patient, through minimally invasive techniques, using specific tools. In other words, without open surgeries and the like.
To perform interventional treatment, the patient is usually sedated – general anesthesia is sometimes necessary – and needles are used under the guidance of the doctor. The doctor visualizes the path taken by these needles using X-rays, ultrasound or other appropriate equipment.
Some of the equipment used in the procedure are: Neuromodulator, Blocking Needle, Radiofrequency Needle, Morphine Pump. The procedure is not time-consuming and works by blocking the source of pain in the patient. It may be necessary to repeat the procedure if the pain does not stop or returns, so that the blockage can be performed at the new site of pain irradiation.
